René Wenger has for many years been a European and Swiss Patent Attorney, and a partner at Hepp Wenger Ryffel until recently. He was trained in mechanical engineering and started his professional career at a large Swiss industrial firm. René Wenger trained further in marketing and attended lectures in civil law and administrative law. His technical specialist areas are precision engineering, apparatus construction, packaging technology and textile machinery. His field of work also includes the drafting and negotiation of technical licensing agreements.
In the course of his practice as a patent attorney, René Wenger has had the opportunity to follow actively the continuous development of the European Patent Convention. In addition to representing clients at the Institute for Intellectual Property in Switzerland, he has also undertaken a large number of application, opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office. Furthermore, he has been involved with numerous patent disputes in Switzerland and abroad. Finally, René Wenger also has many years of experience as a court expert in nullity and infringement cases in Swiss courts, and he acts in litigation at the new Swiss Federal Patent Court, which has had jurisdiction over patent litigation cases since 2012.
